{"id":45092,"date":"2026-04-03T16:25:30","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T08:25:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nuoya.nuoyayasuo.top\/index.php\/2026\/04\/03\/microsoft-now-force-upgrades-unmanaged-windows-11-24h2-pcs\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T16:25:30","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T08:25:30","slug":"microsoft-now-force-upgrades-unmanaged-windows-11-24h2-pcs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nuoya.nuoyayasuo.top\/index.php\/2026\/04\/03\/microsoft-now-force-upgrades-unmanaged-windows-11-24h2-pcs\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft now force upgrades unmanaged Windows 11 24H2 PCs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bleepstatic.com\/content\/hl-images\/2025\/04\/02\/Windows-11.jpg\" width=\"1600\" alt=\"Microsoft now force upgrades unmanaged Windows 11 24H2 PCs\"><\/p>\n<p>Starting this week, Microsoft has begun force-upgrading unmanaged devices running Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro editions to Windows 11 25H2.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/lifecycle\/products\/windows-11-home-and-pro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Lifecycle Policy<\/a> site, Windows 11 24H2 will reach end of support in roughly six months, on October 13, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Also known as the Windows 11 2025 Update, Windows 11 25H2 began rolling out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepingcomputer.com\/news\/microsoft\/windows-11-2025-update-25h2-is-now-available-heres-whats-new\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">in September<\/a> to eligible Windows 10 or Windows 11 devices as a minor update installed through enablement packages less than 200 KB in size.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The machine learning-based intelligent rollout has expanded to all devices running Home and Pro editions of Windows 11, version 24H2 that are not managed by IT departments,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/release-health\/status-windows-11-25h2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Microsoft said<\/a> in a Monday update to the Windows release health dashboard.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Devices running these editions will no longer receive fixes for known issues, time zone updates, technical support, or monthly security and preview updates containing protections from the latest security threats,&#8221; it <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/release-health\/status-windows-11-24h2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">added<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These devices will automatically receive the update to Windows 11, version 25H2 when they&#8217;re ready. No action is required, and you can choose when to restart your device or postpone the update.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center\"><iframe allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" frameborder=\"0\" mozallowfullscreen=\"mozallowfullscreen\" msallowfullscreen=\"msallowfullscreen\" oallowfullscreen=\"oallowfullscreen\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nnP_Liu-UFQ\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"webkitallowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Those who don&#8217;t want to wait for the automatic upgrade can manually check whether the update is available in Settings &gt; Windows Update and click the link to download and install Windows 11 25H2.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not ready to upgrade, you can also pause updates from Settings &gt; Windows Update by selecting the amount of time you&#8217;d like to pause them.
