There are no exclusive or special changes. You&#8217;ll get the same fixes across the two versions of Windows 11.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s new in the April 2026&nbsp;Patch Tuesday update<\/h2>\n<p>After installing today&#8217;s security updates, Windows 11 25H2 (<a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/5079473\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KB5083769<\/a>) will have its build number changed to 26200.8246&nbsp;25H2 and 26100.8246 (24H2),&nbsp;and 23H2 (<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/KB5082052\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KB5082052<\/a>)&nbsp;will be changed to&nbsp;22631.6936.<\/p>\n<p>After the update, Smart App Control can now be modified without installing a fresh copy of Windows 11.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Microsoft has patched issues with sfc \/scannow where it fails to correctly report the error message.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the full list of fixes and improvements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>[Narrator]&nbsp;<\/strong><em><strong>New!<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/em><sup>1&nbsp;<\/sup>Narrator provides rich image descriptions on Copilot+ PCs and now works with Copilot on&nbsp;<em>all Windows&#8239;11 devices<\/em>. Press&nbsp;<strong>Narrator key<\/strong>&nbsp;+&nbsp;<strong>Ctrl&nbsp;<\/strong>+&nbsp;<strong>D<\/strong>&nbsp;to describe the focused image or&nbsp;<strong>Narrator key<\/strong>&nbsp;+&nbsp;<strong>Ctrl<\/strong>&nbsp;+&nbsp;<strong>S<\/strong>&nbsp;to describe the full screen. Copilot opens with the image ready, allowing you to enter a prompt for a customized description. The image is shared only after you choose to describe it. On Copilot+ PCs, Narrator gives instant, on&#8209;device descriptions, and you can select&nbsp;<strong>Ask Copilot<\/strong>&nbsp;for more detail.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>[Smart App Control]<\/strong>&nbsp;<em><strong>New!<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;You can turn Smart App Control (SAC) on or off without needing a clean install. To make changes, go to&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Windows Security<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>App &amp; Browser Control<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Smart App Control settings<\/strong>. When turned on, SAC helps block untrusted or potentially harmful apps.
